The Gloria Jeans Story

Did you know the first Gloria Jeans opened in a small town outside of Chicago in 1979?

Gloria Jean Kvetko was a determined young mum from Chicago with a dream to own a coffee shop where she could combine her passion for caffeine and meeting people.

Fast forward to 1991 and Gloria Jeans one coffee shop dream had expanded to 50 store locations and had quickly become one of North America’s largest and most loved coffee chains. 

In 1995, Australian businessman and coffee expert, Nabi Saleh and his business partner Peter Irvine visited the United State’s to sample the Gloria Jean’s brand. It was during this trip that they purchased the Australian Master Franchise rights to Gloria Jean’s Coffees.

In 1996, Saleh and Irvine had opened Australia’s first Gloria Jeans store in Miranda, Sydney and there are now more than 200 stores across the country. In 2004, Nabi and Peter returned to the United States and acquired the production and international rights to Gloria Jean’s Coffees.

The Gloria Jeans UK Story

The UK’s adventure with Gloria Jean’s Coffees started with the opening of its first store in 2019 in London.
